meeting: March 4th, 6PM Warren County Fairgrounds
We want to
send wishes to John Lane as he recovers from heart valve surgery. The major topic
this month is tractor pulling, we’re making some big changes for this year so
we’re giving everyone as much notice as we can.
1)
We are going to a 1959 cutoff for
pulling (same as CornFestival and Clermont County)
2)
Clevises are to be bolted with a
Grade 8 bolt (no hitch pins AT ALL!)
3)
Hitches are to be 18” from
centerline of the axle housing and 20” high WITH WHEELIE BARS! If you do not
have wheelie bars they are to be 24” from the centerline of the axle and 16”
high
4)
Wheelie bars are to extend 5”
past the radius of the tire, with a 5” square minimum pad, and a minimum 20”
apart at the outside of the pads (wider is better for safety’s sake). They must
be strong enough to support the weight of the tractor, a good test is to fully
load the tractor to your weight and jack it up by the pads (we reserve the
right to test any bars we find questionable)
5)
For all tractors 3 Plow and smaller
we are going with a 15.5 tire as the largest size as Warren County Fair listed
Now we know
there will be some resistance to these changes, but this is for everyone’s
safety. The final note here if you have a question is to let the pull committee
know and they will look into it (hitches the right height/ wheelie bars strong
enough/your W-4 has 16.9-28’s). It does not hurt to ask, and better safe than
sorry
